PAUCC is a tournament sponsored by the WFDF in the search of developing the regional events in the American Continent, taking under consideration the quantity of regional events in Europe and Asia.

The first Pan American Championship was held in 2005 and took place in Brazil, but due to certain circumstances very few teams attended.

In order to congregate more teams the WFDF organized a meeting in Vancouver, Canada at the time that WUGC 2008 to make PAUCC happen. The bids were received by the WFDF in November 2008 and the Dominican Republic came out as the host of PAUCC 2009.

It is expected by the WFDF that this regional events improves its congregation and become more important in order to keep the Ultimate growing in our Continent.
